From the traumatic event he sort of closed himself up afterwards. When Yano said he wanted to leave, I guess she freaked out and killed herself the next day. So Yano’s mother stops going to cancer treatment to stay at home to “protect” her son.
Yano’s mother is super jealous/protective and thinks that that woman is going to steal Yano away from her. His mother is going through some major psychological problems because Yano’s dad’s wife came to ask Yano to come into the family since he is the only heir. What happened was one night Yano decided he couldn’t take it anymore so he told his mother he was going to Hokkaido* to see Nana-chan. It mentioned that he stopped contacting Nana-chan 6 months after he left for Tokyo. It’s not that he can’t forget Nana-san, but it’s because he feels too much guilt. SPOILER ALERT: According to the most up to date chapter (the author hasn’t written a new chapter in about half a year because she’s in the hospital, therefore I don’t think a season 2 is going to come out for a long time any way) Yano is currently living with Yuri, but not out of love. SPOILER ALERT: it seems that he may be some wealthy man’s illegitimate son.Īlso, for those who think that he chose Yuri. He did mention that his mom is a prostitute, I’m not sure what he meant by that, but I’m assuming he thinks his mom isn’t some wonderful woman when it comes to love, but he accepts her for who she is and loves her. The innate nature of him wanting to protect women who are mistreated by men. A character in the anime, I think it was Takeuchi’s mom, said that Nana-san had a strong resemblance to Yano’s mom, which is probably what drew him to her in the first place. “Yano loves the current Nana-chan MUCH MORE than the dead Nana-san. (Tell you, it’s no joke to paraphrase stuffs as long as this sort ) just copied and I should really give credit to her). It is the summary and also an insight which I got from HERE , it is by LISA who commented on a post. This summary encloses the time after Yano left for Tokyo (episode 26 in the anime) up to chapter 51 where the hiatus of publication, back then, had started.
#Anime like bokura ga ita series
*This is good only for those who just watched the last episode of the anime or to those who lost track of the series * SUMMARY OF THE CHAPTERS! ~in short, SPOILER! It's a very minimalistic school-life-and-love type of thing, and could be watched if you have nothing else to do, but I'd advise anyone to skip it for some worthier undertaking. For the love for my fellow Bokura Ga Ita fanatics, here is the Bokura ga Ita has neither the endless energy of Kodocha and Kuromi-chan, nor the sweet and warm feeling of Furuba. Honestly, this isn't something I expected from Akitaro Daichi. I was infinitely bored even before the half-way point, so that should tell you something. The character designs are ultra-minimalistic and animation is almost nonexistant, the show relies heavily on static scenes and chibification, but although those in itself shouldn't be a reason to hate it, there is nothing else in there to keep me staying. The show disappoints in that aspect as well: everything is colorless, grey-brown and not really inspiring. Honestly, the only thing that caught my attention initially was the promise of a vibrant and fresh color palette on the promotional art (ala AIR, which was equally dull yet beautiful).
#Anime like bokura ga ita how to
I am not really sure how to take this series, but color me disappointed and not very impressed.įor a romantic series it is exceedingly dull and not pretty.įor a school comedy it isn't all that funny.įor a slice-of-life story it doesn't feature much "real life" situations.įor the most part, Bokura ga Ita is about Nanami and her relationships with her classmates, which isn't all that exciting. That is mostly the reason that it stood out from the mass for me, I couldn't for the heck remember most other shoujo manga I've read lately since they all are that similar that any lines betweem them blur.Īnyway, looking (and hoping) for a good adaption here. That's actually my hope for this anime to retain its style, the director and most of the staff have worked on really good adaptions such as the ones you named, thus it should be possible to make an adaption which doesn't screw up its quite unique style.Īs for the comments about the manga, face it, on an average out of 100 shoujo there will be only 3-4 which offer interesting ideas and stuff while the rest remains overall the same, as of late the only thing which changes is the amount of sexual depiction and fanservice.Īnd this is where Bokura ga Ita actually shines, it doesn't need all that stuff, while it's true that the story and the ideas are as generic as it can get, it has a quite unique style and presentation and the "drama" bits play out nicely. I also have high hopes for this series mainly because Daichi Akitarou, who directed the Fruits Basket and Kodocha anime, is directing it.
