The 550 Barchetta Pininfarina has a traditional barchetta-style cut to the windscreen (around 4 inches lower than the 550 Maranello) with a body-coloured finish to the lower section of the surround. Furthermore it reflects the past as a model aimed exclusively at open-air use, providing just a manual soft-top for emergency use. After a prolonged stay in Athens for the hols I just returned to Corfu. Yes I took the B with me and she fared beautifully Heavy traffic journey everything I threw at her she took it like a trooper Before I had left i ordered this gizmo from Henk at barchetta parts for the windows noise etc. I am wondering if anyone has used it and whether anyone has any tips for the installation since the site isCan you adjust the positioning of the rubbers on the hoodI think my rubbers are more or less all flush i will take some pics and post them. I spoke to a friend who is pretty handy with deisgn progs and he agreed to help design what I am thinking hopefully i will have the results shortly. After heavy rain there is water under the passenger seat and also in the hood compartment.
I just sponged it all out and wentfor a drive. It hasnt been raining. When I opened the hood compartment to re erect the roof there was even more water in there. Where is it coming from and how can I stop it Any ideas welcome.Originally Posted by Snailshed Hi getting the liners out is not too bad but a bit undignified.
I attached a bungee to the trailing edge of the soft top and used it to pull the trailing edge as vertical as possible the worked between it and the soft top cover (the painted bit). Point worth noting is to remember to disconnect the roof cover open sensor on the left side of the vertical liner (held in. Hi All - after a recommendation from here I contacted Simon Borrell and was duly supplied with a full set of new rubber seals for my B - new hood seals tonneau cover seal and also the seal for the windscreen surroundwindows.
The latter it turns out is the wrong part as it is quite a bit too wide for the B I think it may well be the same part but for an Alfa Spider. I am one of the unfortunate ones (boo) that doesnt have a garage to be able to put the B away for the winter in the style that some of you guys do but I do have a drive to be able to store it on with a decent cover. I am however one of the fortunate ones (hooray) that will get to use the B over the winter anyhow but I am concious of improving the winter protection with a good breathable and waterproofThanks LRB and Shel that is mightily reassuring to hear as I did have some doubts over the potential risk and incidence of condensation even with a so called breathable cover.
I was partialy thinking of it for those snowing and icing nights which could possibly accellerate penetration into the hood and rubbers but I think I have been swayed to avoid the impulse. But a recommendation on the make of. I have a vinyl soft top with a couple of holes and want a replacement dont mind whether I get mohair or vinyl. Anyone know a good place to get one and should I have it fitted or fit it myself I am not that good with cars to be honest I am in the Surrey Berkshire Border area and work in SE LondonYou will find various recommendations by people for new hood. Whatever your final choice ensure you keep your old hood OR AT LEAST remove the two sealing rubbers (one either side) attached to the hood (sewn in) at the top of the B post area. These are no longer available an link the door glass vertical hood rubber to the selaing rubber that goes around the folding base of the hood.
Keeping the old hood could probe a useful template for the future. Hi all I have just taken delivery of a wind stop from Henk excellent service as usual and I have a query. When fitted to the car and we put the roof back up the top cross member of the wstop fouls the roof and pushes it out of shape. It improved a lot once I put the wretched thing on the right way round. But still distorts the roof. The roof is an aftermarket mohair jobbie and needs replacing anyway but does anyone else have the same problem Many thanks for any info.Pete Umm felt part Aint got one of them mister.I do know a very old joke about getting felt but this is probably not the right forum for that.
